Lisacul is a small, picturesque village on the Roscommon-Mayo border, overlooking the Lung River.
Throughout the Lisacul area is a natural landscape of green fields, forestry, rivers, lakes, wildlife and ruins of old stone buildings that combine to create the postcard scenes of Ireland that tourists to the country fall in love with.
It is an ideal base for a holiday in Connacht, near the River Shannon, close to Knock Airport and with each county in the province only a short distance away. Nearby towns include Ballaghaderreen, Castlerea and Ballyhaunis, while the larger urban areas of Galway, Castlebar and Sligo are all within an hours drive.
Lisacul is a favourite destination for anglers, with excellent trout and coarse fishing in the area. Lake O'Flynn, which is noted for a good trout stock, is in nearby Ballinlough and Errit Lough, which has pike, perch and eels, is just outside Ballaghaderreen. These lakes are within 10 km of Lisacul. There are also several golf courses situated a short drive of the village.
