The initial nine holes were installed on land given to the golf club by Major Kirwood of Woodbrook House. The Boyle River and Drumharlow Lake form part of the boundary around the site and the Arigna Mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop.
Hodson Bay Golf Club - With beautiful views of Lough Ree and located 5 km from Athlone, it is easy to see why this 18 hole course has been a national favourite for many years. Roscommon Golf Club - This 18 hole championship course is found just outside Roscommon Town at the grounds of the old Mote Park estate. The parkland course has a par of 71 and a number of challenging holes to overcome.
